CARY, NC (October 9, 2014) – Jennifer Minella, Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc.’s Vice President of Engineering, has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 NC Tech Awards Woman of the Year.  The NC Tech Awards, presented by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program, recognizing companies and individuals who have characterized excellence, innovation and leadership.

With more than 15 years’ experience working in the technology industry, Jennifer’s technical background covers specialized areas of infrastructure security, access control, wireless technologies and industrial security. Most recently, she has been involved in executive management for the company, leading operations in engineering, security, and communications. In her engineering role, Jennifer leads strategic research and consulting for government agencies, educational institutions and Fortune 100 and 500 corporations. In addition to her normal business roles, she is a published author, editorial contributor, trusted media resource and invited speaker at national and international conferences on cyber security. An advocate for the industry, Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors for (ISC)2, a global not-for-profit security organization with 100,000 members across 135 countries, and volunteers in local initiatives including NCTA’s Cyber Security and Knowledge Workforce Groups and the Raleigh Chapter of ISSA.

“Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards (formerly the NCTA 21 Awards) have honored companies for outstanding achievement in the tech sector and use of technology,” stated Brooks Raiford, NCTA’s President and CEO. “As a finalist in this year’s awards, Mrs. Minella has distinguished herself as one of the state’s technology leaders.”

A review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education and technology leaders representing various regions of the state selected this year’s finalists. The awards process culminates with the NC Tech Awards Gala on November 6, 2014 at the Raleigh Convention Center, where nearly 800 leaders from across the state will gather to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners and finalists in each category.
