Carolina Advanced Digital’s official statement on HP’s acquisition of Aruba Networks

On March 2 2015, Hewlett-Packard announced that it will acquire Aruba Networks in a deal valued at $2.7 billion. This is the largest acquisition by HP since it acquired Autonomy for nearly $12 billion in 2011, and it’s no surprise to those of us who have watched HP gradually feel their way into the wireless market. Aruba will become part of the forthcoming HP Enterprise, once that portion of the company is split from its PC and printer business later this year. Hewlett Packard and Aruba are a wonderful match. Their buyer portfolios overlap, and there’s a lot of parity between the environments in which they’re deployed. For the new HP Enterprise this will provide a timely infusion of expertise and acumen – they’ll hit the ground running with momentum that will be invaluable to a viable launch in a highly competitive marketplace. Enterprise consumers can look forward to being able to plan and purchase an entire technology offering through a single manufacturer with a proven track record on networking. What does this acquisition mean for Carolina Advanced Digital and customers? Short version: this move is a positive for us, as well as our clients. Longer version… We have worked with HP Wireless since the original autonomous APs, throughout the WESM line, the Colubris acquisition’s MSM line, and Unified Wireless via their 3Com acquisition. We are newly partnered with Aruba to provide a wide range of optimally effective solutions for reliable, secure wireless. From a reseller and integrator perspective, this acquisition opens new doors and lets us offer clients a comprehensive portfolio, the benefit of better pricing in project...
