      In 1984, John Jabbusch set out with nothing more than a stack of plain business cards and a single brown phone. His vision was clear: to deliver top-tier enterprise networking and custom system design solutions to a select group of customers, primarily in North Carolina. That bold step marked the founding of Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc., a company built on innovation, integrity and a relentless commitment to excellence.

      John’s entrepreneurial spirit and deep technical expertise set the tone for everything the company would become. His leadership shaped not only the direction of the business, but the culture of trust and quality that customers and partners came to rely on for over four decades.

      A Family-Owned Business

      In 1993, the company became a true family enterprise when John’s wife, Susan, bought out his original partner. Together, John and Susan built Carolina Advanced Digital into a thriving business grounded in family values, mutual respect and an unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction.

      Following John’s passing in February, 2026, Susan assumed the role of President and CEO. Under her leadership, the company continues to honor John’s founding vision while charting a path forward with the same commitment to innovation and service that has defined the business from the start.

      Continuous Growth and Evolution

      Over four decades, Carolina Advanced Digital has continuously evolved to meet the changing demands of technology and customer needs. In the 1990s, the company became one of the earliest adopters of enterprise wireless solutions, leading the way as that technology emerged. As the digital landscape grew more complex in the early 2000s, the company expanded its offerings to include advanced security technologies, staying ahead of the curve in an increasingly connected world.

      A milestone achievement came in 2003 when Carolina Advanced Digital was awarded its first GSA contract. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of the company’s expansion into the federal sector. Today, Carolina Advanced Digital continues to grow its federal business, proudly serving as a Prime contractor on NASA’s SEWP contract and earning designations as both a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and a HUBZone small business.
