December Crash Course Sessions
Our partners for this round are Blue Coat and HP Networking.

Blue Coat Training

In the Blue Coat morning session, we will cover the PacketShaper devices, including the technical update on the PacketShaper 8.6 software and the new PacketShaper 12000 appliance. We will also discuss ProxySG and ProxyAV appliances and how to protect users and networks from web threats, phishing, and other attacks, as well as how to accelerate application performance and significantly reduce bandwidth. We will have live equipment for an on-site demonstration of each product.

  • PacketShaper 8.6 Software – The new 8.6 version of the PacketShaper software allows you to control the performance of both applications and web content. It now makes it easier to allow social media applications for business purposes, and scans each web application for priorities. Real-time URL categorization is powered by WebPulse, the community of 70 million global Blue Coat users who monitor new web applications and mark which ones should be allowed, squeezed, or blocked.
  • PacketShaper 12000 Appliance – Controlling up to 3GB of aggregate enterprise traffic, the new PacketShaper 12000 Appliance more than doubles the performance of the earlier model. It provides a high capacity platform for today’s complex mix of applications and content.
  • ProxySG Appliances – ProxySG appliances optimize application performance and web security. High-performance hardware is combined with Blue Coat SGOS, which enables flexible policy control over content, users, applications, and protocols. ProxySG processes Web objects at wire speed with integrated caching.
  • ProxyAV Appliances – ProxyAV appliances are designed for use with ProxySG Full Proxy Edition appliances to provide inline threat protection and malware scanning of Web content at the gateway. ProxyAV only scans Web objects forwarded from the ProxySG for improved performance, and eliminates redundant scanning of frequently downloaded objects with scan-once-serve-many-times intelligent cache integration.

HP Networking Training

The HP Networking afternoon session will explore the A-Series and E-Series portfolio, discussing when and where to use each product, as well as how to use Intelligent Resilient Framework (IRF) to maximize network management and bandwidth. In addition, we will cover the management tools – HP PCM+ and H3C Intelligent Management Center (IMC), which can be used to manage a variety of vendor switches and devices. We will have live equipment for an on-site demonstration of each product.

  • A-Series products (3Com) – Built on networking products from the H3C division of 3Com, the A-Series is for customers with large or complex deployments. The switches, routers, wireless products, and network management solutions that make up the A-Series drive competitive advantage through IT infrastructure at a lower cost of ownership.
  • E-Series products (ProCurve) – Combining switching and routing products from ProCurve and 3Com, the E-Series helps customers reach their business goals with future-proof, easy-to-use, affordable, secure and reliable networking. The E-Series includes switches, wireless products, unified communication products, and network security and management solutions.
  • Virtual stacking with IRF – IRF enables the creation of a resilient virtual switching fabric; so, an IRF-based network expands the control plane across multiple active switches. These interconnected switches are managed as a single common fabric with one IP address, making it easier to use and increasing network resilience, performance and availability.
  • PCM+ and IMC (Management) – IMC is a powerful way to manage your network from a single point. It can be deployed across multiple servers to provide complete management of resources, services, and users.
