CARY, N.C. (June 18, 2009) – On June 17, Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc. , an engineering company focused on IT infrastructure, management and security solutions, was recognized by Business Leader Media as one of North Carolina’s Top 100 Small Businesses at the awards ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Raleigh. Carolina Advanced Digital ranked 15 among the 100 chosen winners.
To qualify, a business must employ fewer than 100 full-time employees, generate more than half of its sales in North Carolina and have been in business for at least five years. Winners were selected by a panel of peers based on three criteria: revenue growth, business achievement and community achievement.
Revenue Growth
Carolina Advanced Digital’s revenue growth has increased by 975% over the past five years and by almost 45% since 2008. To further facilitate their expansion, the company moved earlier this month to Cary from Siler City, where it had been headquartered for the past 25 years.
Business Achievement
Utilizing relationships with global partners and their rapport from national speaking engagements and conferences, Carolina Advanced Digital continues to gather visibility for North Carolina.
Carolina Advanced Digital also fostered the country’s first community-college-based HP ProCurve Network Certification course offering in order to provide supplementary educational and training resources statewide.
Community Achievement
As an engineering-focused company, Carolina Advanced Digital provides IT training and solutions for local and state government agencies as well as community colleges, healthcare systems and commercial businesses.
Principals John and Susan Jabbusch co-founded the Chatham County Small Business Association, were instrumental in the Buy Chatham Campaign and formed the Small Business Expo. Mr. Jabbusch formerly served as a Chatham County representative on the Governor’s Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board for more than a decade. He currently serves on the Technical Advisory Board at Central Carolina Community College.
“We are honored and humbled to be recognized by our state as one of its leading businesses,” said Susan Jabbusch, vice president and chief operating officer for CAD. “I am extremely proud of our team and excited to see where we rank next year.”
