1491759_10153516421320018_1908639090_nCARY, NC (DECEMBER 30, 2013) — In the beginning of the month in Wilmington, NC, 50 small business members received certified instruction at Cape Fear Community College for the Defense Contractor Academy. This certification program was hosted by North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC), a business development entity of the North Carolina Community College System. Headquartered at Fayetteville Technical Community College, NCMBC’s mission is to leverage military and other federal business opportunities for the economic development and the quality of life in North Carolina. By being a vital resource to small businesses, NCMBC also provides the necessary tools in order for businesses to confirm responsiveness and efficiency for defense contracting for federal agencies.

During the training attendees were given the tools to better understand federally mandated procurement requirements and were able to network with other small businesses in North Carolina. This benefits agencies by having reliable resources and gives North Carolina small businesses a push above the competition when responding to federal contracts. During Defense Contractor Academy, attendees were educated on practices and regulations adopted by government procurement offices and how to effectively host relations between civilian-owned businesses and government defense agencies such as the US Army and US Marine Corps.

Among the newly certified students were 3 team members from Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc., a woman-owned, veteran-owned small business. Headquartered in Cary, NC, Carolina Advanced Digital has been providing enterprise-class IT infrastructure network solutions to government, education and corporate customers for more than 25 years.

Over the past 15 years, Carolina Advanced Digital has worked with numerous federal agencies and has invested in attending conferences such as the National Veteran Small Business Conference this past summer in St. Louis, MO and taking courses through Defense Acquisition University, a training establishment under the Department of Defense. By seeking these opportunities Carolina Advanced Digital hopes to maximize efficiency for federal agencies and promises to provide a broader spectrum of products and services.

“The exposure to these resources help us become more diversified in our knowledge and understanding of needs for defense agencies. This also enables us to be more responsive to their needs, making everything easier for federal agency procurement departments,” states John Jabbusch, President of Carolina Advanced Digital.

The ultimate goal for Carolina Advanced Digital is to be responsive to the needs of its federal customers and to provide efficient, easy transactions for customers on all levels of government. By dedicating time to learn about the needs of its customers Carolina Advanced Digital also guarantees less down time for new orders and reduced costs for high-class IT infrastructure appliances and services.

“A continuous investment in time and resources our company has made to be trained to better serve the federal market also enables us to make life simpler for our customers. Attending Defense Contractor Academy also creates a larger spectrum of services and products that are available to our customer and ultimately frees up their time when purchasing data security products,” states Mr. Jabbusch.
