Jennifer Minella Wins Tech Woman of the Year at NC Tech AwardsCarolina Advanced Digital, Inc.’s Vice President of Engineering is recognized for excellence, innovation and leadership
RALEIGH, NC (November 10, 2014) — The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) announced Jennifer Minella, Vice President of Engineering at Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc. as Tech Woman of the Year on Thursday, November 6 at its annual awards dinner. Mrs. Minella joined 700 leaders from across the state to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners in each category at the Raleigh Convention Center.
With more than 15 years of experience working in the technology industry, Jennifer’s technical background covers specialized areas of infrastructure security, access control, wireless technologies and industrial security. Most recently, she has been involved in executive management for Carolina Advanced Digital, leading operations in engineering, security, and communications. In her engineering role, Jennifer directs strategic research and consulting for government agencies, educational institutions and Fortune 100 and 500 corporations. In addition to her normal business roles, she is a published author, editorial contributor, trusted media resource and invited speaker at national and international conferences on cyber security. An advocate for the industry, Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors for (ISC)2, a global not-for-profit security organization with 100,000 members across 135 countries, and volunteers in local initiatives including NCTA’s Cyber Security and Knowledge Workforce Groups and the Raleigh Chapter of ISSA.

The NC Tech Awards (formerly the NCTA 21 Awards) is North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program, recognizing organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement. Each award, known as The Beacon, represents the tech sector’s vibrancy. The awards program has consistently grown over the years, both in the number of nominations and geographical diversity of winners. A review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education and technology leaders representing various regions of the state selected this year’s finalists and winners.
