CARY, NC – Earlier this May, two hundred information security professionals gathered at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC for the 13th Annual IT Hot Topics Conference. The event was hosted by nationally-recognized technology infrastructure and security solutions leader Carolina Advanced Digital, Inc. This year’s meeting was held for 3 days and was the largest in conference history.

IT Hot Topics Conference is one of the most prestigious security events in the area. An event that started as a technical user group, IT Hot Topics Conference has blossomed in to a full conference, with internationally-known speakers and top notch technical sessions. Attendees participate in the conference for free as part as Carolina Advanced Digital’s InfoSec Community Outreach Program. Through this program, industry professionals are given opportunities for networking and professional development.

“This year we incited attendees to break the mold of break-fix maintenance and instead focus on strategic technology design; a goal I think we achieved through hand-selected speakers and topics,” noted John Jabbusch, President and Chief Engineer of Carolina Advanced Digital. “The energy and feedback from this year’s conference was overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to again upping the game in 2015.”

Conference events included breakfast with keynote Katie Moussouris of Microsoft’s Bounty program, a lockpick village hosted by TOOOL, more than 30 technical sessions covering topics such as cybersecurity, infrastructure, application security, mobile security and strategic planning, and Friday’s IT Hot Topics Conference Golf Tournament. Conference sponsors included HP, Barracuda Networks, Bradford Networks, Citrix, AirTight Networks, 7signal, WinMagic, Xirrus, Meru Networks, Exinda, Dell SonicWALL, Motorola/Bluestar, Varonis, Maas 360, and SYNNEX Corporation. Industry partners included (ISC)2, ISSA, UNC School of Government and CWNP.
